It's difficult to blame Ozil
for the difficulties he's faced at Arsenal without
looking at the big picture...
like the fans, he too was lied to by Wenger... there is no doubt in my mind that he was told by Wenger that he was trying desperately to recreate our earlier success by acquiring players that fit the system he ran when Henry was in his prime... as we know this hasn't happened... in order
for Ozl to flourish he needs some speed up front, forwards that can make intelligent runs, a boss in the midfield to compensate
for his obvious defensive liabilities and defenders who can transition from defence to offence quickly and efficiently... much
like he had in Real and with the German National squad... unfortunately he ended up on a squad that has a striker who plays with his back to goal, very few intelligent runs into the box, minus Sanchez, no one to take pressure off him in the midfield, once Cazorla was injured, average defensive midfielders around him, which simply highlighted his lacking defensive
qualities and defenders who lack the necessary cutting edge when it comes to transitional passing... instead of blaming Ozil, which is simply too easy, especially considering his mopey disposition, we should be asking ownership and / or Wenger why they brought him in if they didn't intend on doing what was necessary to get the best from him... can you imagine Ozil playing with the
likes of Henry, Viera, Petit and Pires, it would be incredibly to watch and even more difficult to stop... so the only thing different between his experiences in Real and with the German team versus his time at Arsenal are the players around him and we all know who is in charge of making those decisions, the Grinch who stole soccer

On Saturday afternoon, Shkodran Mustafi wasn't having any of it.He showed so much
quality alongside Laurent Koscielny and
for the first time in a long time it
looks like Arsenal have found a great centre - back partnership. The pair are both quick and good in the air.
Chelsea only slowed spending in recent years because they went totally ham in the years prior, they are stacked full of good youth (they sold a lot of
quality young players too) and Roman seems to have little appetite
for overspending now but they still have bigger resources than us and better facilities just
like City a fact people gloss over and the result of the overspending on youth sees them recoup money that they then use to spend whilst it
looks like they are not spending (also got lucky with the price inflation directly after they went crazy on youth and the regularity of their China deals is sketchy at best.)
I still feel we need to sign a
quality centre back as Koscielny has injury problems,
looks like Chambers is going, Mertesacker won't be a regular, Gabriel is inconsistent and it may be too much
for Holding to start every game.
Another player whose signing
looked like a genuine coup this summer, Alderweireld is a seasoned Belgian international who has played

quality to good effect since signing
for Southampton.
Aside from the goal though, he's been one of, if not the best, players on the pitch in the last two games, as his all - round technical
quality on the ball is making a huge different
for Fernando Santos and his men, and he
looks like he is going to relish playing a pivotal role in Guardiola's side next season and beyond.
After losing Luis Suarez to Barcelona last summer, the Reds will be desperately short of
quality up front if Sterling leaves as well, but the arrival of a player
like Gaitan could make all the difference
for Brendan Rodgers as he
looks to steer the club back into the top four in 2015/16.
In the midfield, (including RWB & LWB) we have a whole bunch of tweeners... none offer the full package, none make sense in our manager's current favourite formation, except
for Sead on the left and Ox on the right, and all of them have never shown any consistency
for more than a heartbeat... Sead, who I'm including in this category because of our present formation,
looks like a positive addition, minus his occasional brain farts, but I would rather see what he could do in a back 4 before making my mind up... Ox, who has never played better, which isn't saying much considering his largely underwhelming play in previous seasons, seems to have found a home in this new formation; unfortunately, can we really expect this oft - injured player to handle the taxing duties that come with said position over the long haul, not to mention, it
looks like he has no intention of staying... Ramsey has relied on the empathy that stems from his gruesome injury years ago and the excitement that was generated a few years back when he finally seemed to put in altogether, but on the whole he has been a big disappointment (neither he nor the Ox have scored enough to warrant a regular spot)... Wiltshire should be put on a weekly contract then played until he suffers his first injury, if and when that occurs he should be shipped - out and no one should very be allowed to say his name on club grounds ever again... Elnehy & Coq are average players who couldn't make any of the top 7 teams currently in the EPL... both have showed some great energy on the pitch, but neither are top
quality and no good team can afford to have that many average players on their bench playing the same position, especially with Coq's injury history / discipline concerns and Elheny's headless chicken tendencies... as
for Xhaka, his tenure here so far has been incredibly underwhelming... we know he has some skills to provide the long ball but his defensive work is piss poor and he gives the ball away too cheaply and far too often... finally, the enigma himself, Ozil, so much skill with his left foot but his presence has been more frustrating than uplifting... in many respects his failure has been directly related to the failure of this club to provide him with the necessary players up front, minus Sanchez of course, and unless something drastic happens very soon his legacy will be largely a negative one (much
like Wenger's)
Big in your list I can agree that all these players would improve us, but let's
look at our CB At the moment Kos, top player but is struggling with a inj which may or may not heal, at the moment he isn't match fit so not up to his own high standard, so needs help or a defender of his
quality so he can go and recover properly So then we have Mert, too slow and no longer good enough, I'm not sure if he's even good enough
for 3 rd choice CB, too slow, poor on the air
for his size and not brave enough, he's lasted this long due to Kos he needs a Top class CB just to allow him to play against average teams Ok now Reid not top class we can all agree so we couldn't really play him with MERT as he isn't Kos
quality so can't cover merits deficiencys He could be ok with Kos but Kos is struggling So is Reid what we need???? And finally Wenger if he has all 3 fit will still play Kos / Mert first choice Oh and God forbid we play MERT / Reid against the top teams
like Chels / city / utd / Southampton Chuckle chuckle
They bring different
qualities, much
like alexis vs Giroud at striker... Ospina is much better at reflex saves and probably does nt get beaten from range as much as Cech does, however Cech is much more commanding in the box when it comes to crosses and corners which is vital in the physical premier league, thus its all about what you are
looking for in your keeper.
Fans fail to see that we are blessed to have a DM
like coquelin, I mean
look at how solid our team has become when he plays. His defensive
qualities are what please me the most.Coquelin reads the game really well and knows exactly where an opponent is going to drop the next pass that is why you see him making so many interceptions because he reads the game well and he is not afraid to challenge
for the ball.He is also very desciplined withe ball and passes the ball quick enough to start a counter attack. So
for me, I couldn't ask
for another DM than Coquelin please let's learn to appreciate what we have.Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Kondogbia etc are highly rated because they play
for other clubs if they were playing
for Arsenal we would have branded them «average players», we would be crying
for Wenger to sign «world class DMs».
And when you
look back at the last decade, none of those youngsters have progressed in the way that they were hyped up to and yes I'm talking about the
likes of Ramsey, Walcott, Jack Wheelchair and the Ox who all had a one season wonder of some sort, during one point in their Arsenal careers, thus far and We can't keep using this excuse
for not buying ready made
quality, which would instantly improve our chances of winning a major trophy or two, but No, Wenger wants to stick with a theory which clearly isn't working
for us on the pitch, but he doesn't really care, as long as it works out well
for saving the penny's and the pounds, in the place where it matters most
for Arsenal fc, in the bank.
I
like the
look of Allegri, but it's not exactly difficult to be successful managing Juventus, at a time when they've been miles ahead of any other Italian club
for years, in terms of
quality, and finances.
Out of this he should spend that Lacazette money on Lukaku or Morata or Aubameyang.Morata is a player who I feel should he be given a team where he's the main man he's going to score a lot of goals. There's more to come from him.I think he'll do well here. It's a shame he usually warms the bench at Madrid. It makes him seem overrated but he's not.Lukaku has the height, physique,
quality, speed, power, technique and finishing that Arsenal need in a striker. He
looks like that kind of player who'll bang in a lot of goalsif given the chance in a top team.Aubameyang is very very fast and clinical and at his age he's at his best.If we sign him it's more likely he'll be here
for a while than most of the two due to his age.
Many JustArsenal readers thought that we also needed a top
quality striker to actually challenge
for the title, but Olivier Giroud is now
looking like the real deal, and both the youngster Chuba Akpom and the ex-Man United Danny Welbeck could be adequate understudies against the weaker teams.
In the middle,
for me Coq has been disappointing this season and
for this reason, if we can get N'Golo Kante, good
for us, but I would still
like AFC to add someone in the Gilberto Silva / Viera mould in the middle... AFC scouts might want to take a
look at A Rabiot, W. Carvalho, L Bender, S. Khedira in this regard because I don't watch other Leagues often enough to judge on their actual
quality or suitability.
You
like it or not they got
quality, and from what I saw, he
looks happy. You can mention so many reasons
for his happiness because we Arsenal fans does not want to believe teams
like man u can still sign
quality.
