There's also a good chance this could be pre-production hardware, as while this Venice mostly looks the part, a few minor details suggest BlackBerry could be fine - tuning things — things
like speaker placement.

I
like the arc's
speaker placement, and both have the SD slot, which I really
like.
As far as port, sensor, and button
placement is concerned: on the back, we have our main camera sensor and a LED flash, there's no heart - rate sensor on the A series; on the front, we have our proximity and ambient light sensors, a front - facing camera, earpiece, display, back and recent app capacitive keys, and a home button with an integrated touch - based fingerprint sensor (A5 and A7 only); on the bottom, there's a microphone, 3.5 mm headphone jack, MicroUSB port, and the
speaker grille; on the top, we have nothing other than the secondary microphone, and, just
like the new GS7, there's no IR blaster on board; and the volume buttons are located on the left side of the aluminium frame, while the power button is located on the right side — all three buttons are very tactile with excellent reachability and positioning.
Like any bookshelf
speakers, the S100 are beholden to
placement; you'll need to position them at ear level and angle them correctly to bring the best out.
And, much
like we saw with the Galaxy Note 3, the
speaker's
placement is pretty bad.
The
speaker is just a bit heavier in the bass and lower mids than we'd
like, and, as mentioned the rear - firing ports make
placement a little more challenging.
This

placement problems that I identified in other soundbars by clipping onto the top of your screen
like a clothespin.
There is no mention of
placement of parts
like speakers, sensors, 3.5 mm jack, charging point and camera.
While there are new
placements for the two front - facing
speakers, notification LED and front - facing camera, I still feel
like the bezels on the Xperia Z3 are too large.
The
placement of ports and buttons is much the same as the Xperia Z2 as well, with power, volume and camera shutter buttons along one side, along with a covered microSD card slot, a headphone jack at the top and dual front - facing stereo
speakers, while if you flip the phone over there's a camera and flash on the top left corner, just
like on the Z2.
Like the quality of the camera in most phones,
speaker placement and throughput is also a common area that manufacturers just can't seem to nail down.
With proper SVS center
speaker placement, vocals and sound effects are attached to the screen and flow from left to right without breaks creating an immersive, «
like - being - there» suspension of belief.
