Not that I wouldn't play the crap out of something
like that, but it's still not a replacement for a
traditional fighter.
While Toriko himself has more the
traditional Ken -
like (from Fist Of The North Star) impossible strength against impossible odds feel to him (and sometimes look), the other
fighters are cool and stand out on their own.
An arena unlocked early on gets even more specific, often giving you preset parties and abilities, but one of its primary rewards is a currency that can be used to upgrade your main hub both for continuous benefits to your
fighters and for
traditional extras
like unlocking music and cutscenes for replaying.
I am someone who has not purchased the game because I'm waiting to see some more Japanese characters announced as DLC (preferably JRPG characters) and also wondering if now that Sony Santa Monica is in charge, if there might be a way for a mode to be added that made it more
like a
traditional health - based
fighter.
