display did catch our eye,
like the new bands for the Guess Connect (pictured here).
While past Fitbit
wearables have been able to
display call, text and calendar notifications, Ionic will also be able to push notifications from apps
like Facebook, Instagram, Slack and more.
Instead, it's taken considerably longer to get anywhere close, and the nearest to mass - market
wearable display approaches have either focused on delivering basic notifications,
like Google Glass, or some sort of game arena,
like Oculus Rift.
Although its price and design — the Blades look
like something stolen from a 3D showing of Star Wars — will almost certainly make the Vuzix Blade a niche product, the addition of Alexa and an augmented reality
display makes them more practical than previous

like it's floating above your wrist.
One alternative, of course, could be a remote processing / battery device, effectively splitting the «brain» of the
wearable from the output portion; that's a strategy we've seen from manufacturers
like Vuzix, though more on
wearable media
displays than Glass alternatives.
