The first game was to sell the power of the snes, second one even more so with you being able to board ships, but of course that was cancelled, 2 was canceled so 64 could look all the more impressive and really show off what made the n64 so different, it also was bundled with the rumble pack to push it, much like the wii motion plus bundles from last gen, assault was the worst game in the series by a longshot, and the first one created without the idea of pushing something (as far as anyone knows), adventures of course isnt even a starfox game so why include it, and of course command had forced stylus controls which may or may not have been to convince people to touch can work for hardcore games too, but thats just me assuming they arent just jerks.

The 3ds had a rough start, the market Nintendo caters too won't rush out and buy a console day 1 unless it's part of some fad like the wii was.

Ideally a game console is more powerful than all three, but runs like the wii u. Using PC architecture in a console is not a good design idea.

galaxy 1 and 2 done that for wii, i liked sunshine but preferred Mario 64 and galaxies games so much more, due to wii limitations, the worlds in galaxy had to be kept small, but imagine bigger Mario 64 style worlds, and a huge open world based in the mushroom kingdom, like super Mario bros 3, with the giant world, water world, ice, etc i want a 3d super Mario bros 3, but with a mix of galaxy 1 and 2 and Mario 64 game play, while i liked Mario sunshine, i quickly got bored of the tropical island setting, and music, and the water based game play just didn't do it for me, and for most Mario fans, the sales speaks for itself, the fact is most Mario fans did not like sunshine.

It's very sad Nintendo are doing this, but I guess with new leaf and stuff it's just not worth it everyone has moved on to wii u and 3DS and it seems like ds and wii are just history now!
