No - one in our home
likes kidney beans at all.
My kids and husband don't
like kidney beans, so I put a can of black beans in place of one of the kidney beans (I like the kidney beans so kept one can!)
For those that don't
like kidney beans, small red or pink beans (in the Goya section) would be a good substitution.
Great Northern beans is a type bean not a brand
like kidney beans etc..
And if you don't
like kidney beans, simply swap them for chickpeas, It's your stew.
Cut the red felt into apple shapes, mine are looking more
like kidney beans but the kids really don't care because they look like apples to them!

like kidney beans and baked beans and stuff like that, no surprise there.
Examples of carbohydrate - containing foods with a low GI include dried beans and legumes (
like kidney beans and lentils), all non-starchy vegetables, some starchy vegetables like sweet potatoes, most fruit, and many whole grain breads and cereals (like barley, whole wheat bread, rye bread, and all - bran cereal).
I feel
like the kidney bean X and Y buttons were what I don't like about the face buttons... maybe downsize that A button a little bit and move X and Y into their traditional positions, and you still have a controller that has this emphasized action button that rests PERFECTLY where your thumb does.

Some suggestions: instead of tomatoes, try any juicy, slightly sweet vegetable; add some
kidney beans in there; replace the cucumbers with something equally crunchy,
like fresh bell peppers; if you
like the taste of raw onions, you can put some of those in; sub out the Feta for a goat cheese or perhaps Parmesan shavings; add roasted nuts or seeds; etc..
If you
like pinto, navy or red
kidney beans, use those instead.
I make a similar meatless chili in a crockpot (I make a LOT at once and freeze for a quick lunch or dinner for 1 or 2)- and I think you'll
like this idea: along with carrots, celery, onions and garlic, I usually use 3 - 4 cans of (low sodium, rinsed)
