Tentatively tying both the singleplayer and
multiplayer aspects of the game together is the new Faction system, an interesting if
limited concept.
With the
limited single player campaign, one would think the focus would be on the
multiplayer aspect of the game, and you would be right, but not completely.
This being in the
limited scope of the game as it's an online
multiplayer only experience with minor single player
aspects that were really just tacked on due to complaints.
For me, the
multiplayer aspect was a little disappointing in some ways due to the unlocked portions and
limited weapons available to those who just started playing.
While co-op
multiplayer is unfortunately
limited to local support, perhaps this restriction is appropriate in that it doesn't undermine the nostalgia inherent in every other
aspect of the game.
