With his «Changing Lives» motto, President Mahama, will in the coming days, commission other major projects in Accra, including the new Ridge Hospital, inauguration of the James Town - Bukom ultra modern boxing arena, inaugurate the new
liquid waste treatment plant, to make way for the eternal closure of lavender hill, which has been in existence for the past 60 years.
The facility will be managed by the Sewerage Systems Ghana Limited (SSGL), an engineering, construction and procurement specialist subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies that focuses on the provision of efficient
liquid waste treatment technologies.

The President, who was speaking at the inauguration of the Lavender Hill feacal
treatment plant, was also optimistic of a reduction in negative health effects associated with poor
liquid waste disposal and management in the short to medium term.
This was further worsened by the direct discharge of
liquid waste from Accra's sewerage system into the Korle lagoon after the Mudor
treatment plant broke down.
Most
treatment plants, Weber explains, gorge a relatively small number of sludge bacteria with all the
liquid waste they can eat.
