Now, most
artists are «outsiders,»
of course, in that they've decided to devote their
lives to a weird, unconventional career — dubiously «useful» art — but some
artists are more outside than others, and it seems that these make up the bulk
of this cross-generational
list.
MoMA PS1 has announced the
list for the fourth iteration
of their quinquennial exhibition Greater New York, showcasing some 68
artists and collectives
living and working in the metropolitan New York area.
Each handsomely designed volume presents a thorough survey
of the
artist's
life and work, as well as statements by the
artist, an illustrated chapter on technique, a chronology,
lists of exhibitions and public collections, an annotated bibliography, and an index.
In a letter dated 26 April 1974, asking Scott to send a painting, Blake told him that the
list of contributors was as diverse and «classy» as he could make it, the common denominator being that the
artists lived or worked close to Bath.
In one
of its pointless periodic ranking exercises, Art News just
listed Stella among the 10 most expensive
living artists.
MoMA PS1 announced the
artist list for the fourth edition
of «Greater New York,» a show devoted to
artists living and working in New York City.
Unsurprisingly, the
list of individuals honored by the Trophy series includes many people with whom Rauschenberg shared deep connections throughout his
life:
artist Marcel Duchamp (1887 — 1968) and his wife, Teeny (1906 — 1995);
artists Jasper Johns (b. 1930) and Jean Tinguely (1925 — 1991); dancer and choreographer Merce Cunningham (1919 — 2009); and composer John Cage (1912 — 1992).

Rosenblit has collaborated and performed with
artists including Simone Aughterlony (Uni * Form, Biofiction, Everything Fits In the Room, Maintaining Stranger), Philipp Gehmacher (It is a Balancing Act
Living Without Your Attention), Young Jean Lee (Untitled Feminist Show), Ryan McNamara (MEEM), Yvonne Meier (The Shining), Sasa Asentic (On Trail Together), Anne Imhof (School
of the Seven Bells), Miguel Gutierrez (Age & Beauty Part 3), A.K. Burns (A Smeary Spot), and Kerry Downey and Joanna Seitz (To Do
List).
Led by auctioneer Patrick Meade from Bonhams, the evening will feature both
live and silent auctions, providing access to works by internationally renowned
artists as such as Jim Campbell, Jasper Johns, Gerhard Richter, Cindy Sherman, Andy Warhol, and Garry Winogrand, along with a growing
list of other photographs, paintings, drawings, and design objects from top galleries nationwide.
