Following local custom, we have adapted the traditional Western Advent wreath by using
little clay
lamps arranged on a large
brass tray, all of which are available in the nearby bazar.
I was pretty happy with the way the turquoise table
lamp turned out: The
brass chandelier was a
little more challenging — I mean it took a full ELEVEN minutes to prime it.
I wanted something a
little taller, a
little bigger, and a
little more cheerful than the
brass one that was there before (which has been relocated to our kitchen — always musical
lamps around here, ha!).
I die just a
little bit inside every time I see that
brass lamp because I want it SOOOO bad for my desk and it just gone everywhere around here!
Little features and details like the
brass nailheads on both leather chairs and desk chair coordinate with the beautiful copper brushstroke
