I am always struggling with keeping the cotton buds (or Q tips as some of you may call them) nice and neat on my dressing table without having an ugly plastic box there, so I decided to beautify
this little glass candle jar and make it into a lovely cotton bud holder!

Pour the gas (not the liquid) by tilting the bottle and giving it a
little squeeze into the
glass to extinguish the
candle.
So put the kids to bed a
little early, put on some nice music, light some
candles, pour yourselves a
glass of wine and enjoy this luxurious dinner for two.
I couldn't capture the entire vignette, but it was mercury
glass pillars with birch
candles and mercury
glass pumpkins with images from the 4d ultrasound of «
Little Man» woven through.

In order to complement the main color of our dining room, the prominent colors of this tablescape are navy blue and a slate grey and for a
little sparkle, I added mercury
glass tealight
candle holders that I used to hold a mini cactus in each and copper flatware.
For my centerpiece, I used a grouping of these taper
candle holders and made simple
little floral arrangements in milk
glass goblets.

The wicker basket on the coffee table is dressed up with mercury
glass candle holders and ornaments, adding a
little sparkle to the space.
I did put out the
little glass nativity scene with our new advent
candle holder though.
I was particularly taken by this
little idea of hanging votive
candles from the edges of
glass hurricanes.
Then after a quick «shop the house» search, we nestled in some of Peter and Josette's old books, a few of their candlestick holders and
candles, a
little pair of antique
glasses, and some of the beautiful feathers they've collected...
And the
little bit of sparkle from
glass candle holders on the dining room table doesn't take away from the beauty of using natural elements.
I did a class last week where we made
little chocolate pots, and I pulled out six different things you could put them in, from an espresso shot
glass, to a sherry
glass, to a votive
candle holder — as long as you didn't use it for
candles.
My girls and I were in Anthropologie a few days ago and nearly caused a huge calamity trying to smell some adorable
