The standards of
decency and honor and
human compassion which were valid and prized among individuals in the

human, with
human needs and, consequently, with
human standards.

little doubt that many Australians were deeply disturbed by the histories of abuse and the damage done to so many lives, so counterproductive to our collective interests and to the view of our society as staunch in its foundation on the values of fairness,
decency and respect for the
human rights of all its members.
