I'm a
little hesitant on
oat milk as I tried it once and ended up with such a goopey slimey like texture... But perhaps I soaked the oats too long.
A
little more
oat flour should work just fine, or you could even just try leaving it out altogether and maybe use a
little less almond
milk.
Here I use
oat milk for its mild, sweet taste, and add some dried chestnuts to make this dish a
little bit different.
This fantastic homemade
oat milk is a great alternative to dairy or to other plant - based
milk that can be a
little bit expensive like almond
milk.
I just made this with
oat milk and coconut cream all the way down in
little ol' New Zealand.
First, I warmed the
oat milk to 42 degrees Celsius, a
little warmer than my hand.
I've also used homemade cashew
milk in this recipe (you can replace it with gluten free
oat milk), which I think deserves a
little post on its own.
Flavor: While almond and pecan
milks are perfectly flavored all on their own, other
milks such as rice and
oat are a
little less flavorful, not to mention that they have less fat in them, so they are less rich.

oat milk, flaxseeds and an apple (tea on the side, of course!)
If you're going to use the
oat milk for drinking, rather than cooking, you can sweeten it to taste with a
little honey or other liquid sweetener, and flavor it with vanilla, spices, cocoa powder, or fruit syrup.
Soaked
oat mixture can be kept in the fridge for two days, but might need a
little extra juice /
milk.
Serve with 1 - 2 dessert spoonfuls of an organic natural yogurt or a
little rice,
oat or almond
milk.
I do a brilliant purple one with blueberries, frozen bananas, a
little almond or
oat milk and sunflower seeds.
For beneficial bacteria and increased nutrient bioavailability, I like to culture my homemade
oat milk with a
little miso (I'd love to try making my own miso, but I'm not quite there yet).
The
