another question - what is the point of doing weight training on this lifestyle if u do nt put in almost any post workout protein?i workout and want to firm up a bit and gain some small muscle mass (not grow big muscles), and every time i workout, it all gets lost and reversed back to were i started - because i consume so

And although there are good levels of BCAA's in whey
protein it can be useful to take a
little extra with your
post workout shake — especially if you are over 40, as we have more difficulty activating the mTOR pathway to build muscle than the younger guys do.
Another aspect to keep in mind... while I always preach healthy fats at most of your meals... with the
post workout meal, you actually want almost all carbs and
protein, and very
little fat if any.
Oh, and if you want to a
little protein boost, like if you're having this as a
post work - out meal, for instance, try this: mix some
protein powder in with a
little bit of Greek yogurt and then mix that in with your oatmeal.
Add some cacao powder, which fights cardiovascular disease; walnuts, which are full of healthy fats; banana, which delivers the potassium your body craves; collard greens, which replace much needed iron, calcium, magnesium, and a
little bit of
protein, and you've got an amazing (and amazingly tasty) pre or
post workout snack.
