Despite the new contract and incredible buy - out clause, the report states that the Spanish international will actually be moved on for around # 15million, which would certainly make him much more appealing to Arsene Wenger and seems reasonable for a player with
little resale value at his age.
Assuming that he would sign a contract of around five years at Old Trafford, Vidal would be well into his thirties and with
little resale value by the time it expires, putting huge pressure on the Chilean to live up to his huge price tag during his spell at the club.
Hummels is that kind of player but I can't realistically see us spending that kind of money (circa # 40M I'd guess) on a centre back of that age (
little resale value).
With the player's release clause set at $ 18 million [Goal], Barcelona may be priced out of a move, particularly for a player who, at 29, will have
little resale value.
And yet he signed Per, Cazorla, Podolski, and Arteta in recent seasons who all had
little resale value (though Cazorla has stayed consistent enough to keep his perhaps) and 3 of them were arguably at the end of or past their prime.
In addition, used household goods and personal effects have
little resale value, and so do not represent a real source of value to repay creditors.
