little sofa table / desk from Craigslist last week.

If there is
little room for a side
table next to your
sofa, position a narrow console behind a
sofa to serve as a display shelf.
My mom actually used it as an end
table next to her
sofa until I was ready to move in (she loved it so much that I was a
little worried she might not give it back, ha!).
Our
sofa table (that previously had no home) suddenly found a nice open spot next to the
sofa and fireplace, creating a perfect
little niche for plants and a place where we can sit with our laptop or coffee and gaze out the window!
I like the contrast of the boldly striped
sofa and the contemporary colors of bright pink and lime green against the rustic look of the walls, wood - topped

Prior to us acquiring these
little beauties, we had refinished our dining set (TWICE), a
sofa console, a shoe rack, 2 end
tables, and our bed frame!
Consoles, buffets and sideboards are perfect for behind a
sofa or in a hallway to set a
table lamp on to add a
little extra task or ambient lighting to a room, but perhaps more importantly they give you a platform upon which to personalize your home with family pictures and prized decorative accent pieces.
I'd use one next to my
sofa for a
little side
table and one in my dining room to hold a basket and a new plant!
