So this is
the little story of my life.
Not exact matches
Caro's storytelling has a Homeric flair to it — he sprinkles each volume with
little epithets and repeated
stories that hammer major themes
of Johnson's
life into the reader's memory, making the process
of reading almost participatory.
Milosz was wary
of the comfortable abstract formulas offered by the academic theologian; they seemed to have
little to do with the horrible questions his
life story had forced him to confront.
If no one is «good,» then neither am I. Hansel and Gretel,
Little Red Riding Hood, and all
of the characters in those old
stories made mistakes
of their own that nearly cost them their
life.

little life in western Canada, I matter in the global
story of how love wins.
If these ancient rites hadn't been co-opted by capitalism, hadn't morphed into pastel M&M s, plastic grass and My
Little Ponies with bunny ears, I might find it a relief to preach on the fecundity
of spring, rather than trying to tell the
story of a
living, breathing dead man.
However, while highlighting the poor quality
of life of children in
stories such as Oliver Twist and
Little Dorrit, authors at that time did not follow today's pro-abortion attitude — namely that it is cruel to let children be born into squalor.
The reason this grim
little tale so amuses me (quite apart from the magnificent pun, which one hopes was purely extemporaneous), is that the
lives of philosophers are so often oppressively, obtundently dreary that any diverting
story — even one as macabre as the ordeal
of Schopenhauer's poor old Putzfrau — comes to the scholar as a cherished respite.
Exciting — to watch producers, screenwriter, director and others take the
little stories scattered throughout my
life and knit them into a beautiful, compelling, award - winning work
of art.
Afterwards, as we were sitting on the couch, a
little depressed from all the people who die, the women who get treated like trash, and the overall view in the movie that
life is cheap, my wife said, «
Of all the traditional Christmas movies, «Miracle on 34th Street,» «White Christmas,» or «A Christmas
Story «why do you watch this movie?

stories brought him wealth and fame, his own

little short
of tragic.
In archaic religion each man finds meaning by repeating the creation, or to put it the other way about, he finds meaning by projecting the pattern
of his own
little story into the great
story which explains not only his own
little life but how things are.
The collapse
of what I called the big
story has raised the question whether there is any sense in talking about the span
of man's
life as a
little story, and with the collapse
of the
little story it is a severe question whether the new does not become noise rather than information.
Fundamental to the narrative vision is the «
story of my
life,» the
life story or the
little story.
The unique person and moment can be seen as unique because the
story does not have to return to a certain point; but on the other hand, the end symbolizes closure, the cessation
of the intolerable new, and the
little story of the believer's
life is subjected to these same tensions that appear in the overall
story.
But the early forms
of the
life story or the
little story were not open to the new.
This correlation between
little story and big
story, between
life story and the
story of the universe, is fundamental to the whole storytelling enterprise as a way
of giving meaning to man's
life.
These
little stories perfectly express the condition
of soul in one who chooses
life in the kingdom with Jesus.
Jesus Feminist is really a
story — a
story about how I am learning to set up a
little outpost for the Kingdom
of God in my real right - now
life, as a sign and a foretaste
of what it means to be human in God's kingdom.
If you are educated and
living in the 21st century, how then can you believe a book that is so patently foolish and so obviously a product
of bronze age folk with
little or no knowledge
of the world and so full
of inconsistencies and laughably foolish scenarios and notably misogynistic and brutal and racist and intolerant
stories?

of the Christian tradition the
story of Jesus
of Nazareth may have
little if any significance (just as to most Christians today, though this is certainly not praiseworthy, the
