I added very
little sweetener in this recipe overall, and it's just mildly sweet, but you could add a little bit more to the rhubarb filling if you prefer.

I don't even want to think what that would taste like with so much potato
in the recipe and so
little sweetener.
It's very sweet and delicious but a
little pricey and hard to find, so you can swap
in any liquid
sweetener.
The only
sweetener I used
in this recipe was a
little bit of Agave Nectar
in the cashew cream.
I prefer the dates (when I have a choice) since they are a
little lower
in sugar content and since there is additional
sweetener in the filling and chocolate topping.
With no sucrose at all (or a type of

sweetener so you're not just drinking lime tequila.
I used liquid stevia for
sweetener, and added
in a
little pea protein powder as well for kicks.
What I love about using maple syrup as a
sweetener is that a
little goes a long way and I don't have to use mounds of sugar
in anything!

in a bottle and is called drinking coconut milk mainly because it has a
little vanilla &
sweetener added.
Then add a
little fun, like nuts, a
sweetener of choice (I chose to use juice as my liquid and opted out of a
sweetener) and you have magic
in your mouth.
You could always substitute a
little honey (2 or 3 teaspoons)
in with the sauce or a packet of artificial
sweetener like Stevia if you didn't want to omit the sweetness altogether I personally think this sauce needs a hint of sweetness, but you could definitely use something besides brown sugar!
