Some deeper thoughts on

It's been a hot minute since I posted
a little work outfit inspiration.
I'm starting off with this cute

This morning, after catching a glimpse in the mirror after dropping off
little guy at daycare, I asked myself (for the second time this week), «is that an acceptable amount of spit - up on a
work outfit?»
It's always
works to find
little details that make the
outfit make sense, like pops of red than run through the
outfit without being too overwhelming!!

This
outfit was a
little something I wore to
work and for a post
work party last before I went away to Bruges.
As these are resolutions that I'll be
working on throughout the year, I wanted my first look to be a simple
outfit that requires
little styling.
I am
working on getting the
outfit guide ready for you but in the mean time, here is a somewhat simple
little shades of grey look for you.
A cape blazer is easy to style into your
work wear but adds a
little edge to any
outfit.

I sleep in as
little as possible to not get overheated, I throw on sweats upon waking if it's cool first thing in the AM, I wear cute summery
outfits for
work in the cool AC, change once or twice if there are errands to be run outside, and then change again once J gets home for a comfy evening at home together — it's exhausting.
The first one is an
outfit I wore to
work: a
little black dress and a blazer.
Don't get me wrong, I've certainly done it but actually a shoe can really dress up and smarten an
outfit, so don't be afraid to walk to
work in your comfies but slip into something a
little more fancy when you get in the office.
Printed garments and statement colour pop pieces really can make a boring
outfit a
little more interesting,
work wear doesn't have to be black and white.
For the look we added a button up jean shirt to compliment the sweater, and add that dressy feel to the
outfit, and matched it with this cute
little leopard skirt; which has a great functional silhouette that can
work with many pieces.
On the day that I saw the post, I had worn a rather nondescript
outfit to
work that might have been a
little bit on the frumpy side.
Finding a good cropped jacket will be a staple in your wardrobe, as it can easily emphasize a
little black dress or complement any
work outfit.
I get a
little tired of wearing just black pants to the office, so this this
outfit is definitely perfect if you're looking for something different to wear to
work (just throw on a black blazer and you're good to go!).
I really like the
little straw boat hats, they're not as «hipster» looking as the fedoras and they can
work with pretty much any
outfit.
It's so nice that My Kind of Lovely doesn't open until 11:00 but since I like to fit in a
little blog
work in the mornings I like to do some
outfit photos before
work and while I still look decent.
The striped turtleneck
works well but also makes the
outfit a
little severe (a lot?).
So I'm going to review my favorite
outfits, and why they
worked so well... and share one or two of my least favorites and why they got a
little less wear than the others.
These colors that aren't already present in the base
outfit bring in a
little more interest, and the scarf (or sweater or bag or whatever) designer has already done the
work for you of knowing what colors will
work well together.
My life is certainly changing (for the best) and so I hope to share more about being a
working mother, sharing
outfit ideas, and, of course, my
little fashionable son, Lucas.

With
little time to think (and failing to properly plan the night before), I opted for one of my go - to winter
work day
outfits: high waisted jeans, a black turtleneck sweater, a classic pointy - toed bootie and some of my favorite accessories, including these amazing sunglasses I just had to have.
Normally I don't have trouble creating
outfits, but
work outfits are a
little different for me.
A slimline pair of grey chinos is a great choice if you've got an important
work meeting or you want to just smarten up your
outfit a
little.

little Valentine's date with your mini or minis while waiting for your husband to come home from
work would be a great idea and how fun would it be to match your

I wore this
outfit, sans scarf, for a casual Friday at
work recently, and my friend Stephanie and I agreed that a
little neck scarf would be a perfect finishing touch.
Fun summer prints add a
little liveliness to any
work outfit.
Awkward timing considering I'm in vacay mode right now, but today I'm sharing a
little work day
outfit inspiration.
No need to bring a change of clothes to
work, lipstick is all it takes to add a
little evening glamour to your
outfit.
at least in my book... i got a hand me down pair from my cousin (circa 1986)... they had a cherry syrup stain on them from when she
worked at the «tastee freeze» and she made me a cherry slushie... she couldn't get the stain out so wanted a new pair... i got the old ones i'm always happy w / my style if there's something just a
little bit «off» in my
outfit!
This week I chose a cute
little spring dress to style for you, by pulling different color accessories (belt and shoes) we completely changed the look of the dress and I'm sure you can find yourself in at least one of the looks:) I did say on my intro that I had a makeup look to go along with the
outfit but unfortunately that wasn't uploaded together (my fault, sorry...) BUT I am
working on a separate post for that one video so you can check back...
All items in this
outfit I previously owned except the new Banana Republic Sloan pants — which I decided to invest in (at 50 % off) because my
work pants are getting a
little a large on me & I had to size back to a 00P (my other Sloan pants are a 0P).
They are similar to a chino style and will
work well for a putting together a polished casual
outfit (unfortunately, they were a
little big on me though).

little did I know how much
work was involved in finding the perfect
outfit to transition from
work to night.
I love all black
outfits but sometimes to add an accessory to just add a
little colour
works well too.
I've searched through Pinterest for «Thanksgiving
outfits» for a
little aid, but what's actually helped me the most is looking back through my own blog photos and seeing looks that I feel like
worked.
This might have
worked, but my real - life Basquiat tee is a
little too high - contrast for perfection, and I don't like to wear a biker jacket unless the rest of my
outfit is impeccable.
Between three kiddos to take to school, make lunches, baths, homework, go to
work, cook dinner, do laundry and all the
little pick up's around the house I still managed to pick out cute
outfits (a girl has to make time for her favorite things, right?!)
