As a full time pastor of a local church who loves the Church and God's people and all people, I concur that the Church is often the biggest stumbling block in the potential
life of faith in an
unbeliever.
Believers, because they are believers, need to be held up to a higher standard of
living, while
unbelievers, because they are
unbelievers, can be accepted
as they are.

Surely
as God's salt and light, we are called to go among
unbelievers,
live with them, and pray for them through their joys and sorrows in hopes of witnessing for Christ.
One of the first questions Mr. Bell should ask himself is: Why
as a believer his
life is no different than an
unbeliever?
If you don't understand that hell was made for Satan then perhaps you also don't believe that we
as Christ followers have an enemy and his role here on earth... most
unbelievers are
living a hell down here so when I preach or do one on one evangelism, I most certainly inform them of hell... I could quote verses here but really you just need to have solid theology....
But no; this is not to go over to well with the
unbelievers, very few believed Jesus and the disciple's spoke forth
as the Holy Spirit gave them the words to speak forth, and God is still the same today and they call themselves Christians but they
live in unbelief: They truly think that God has changed His ways:

unbelievers can understand God's instructions in Scripture, see the devastating consequences of sin in their own
lives, and
as a result, repent of their sin and seek to follow God instead.
I believe discipleship with
unbelievers is one of the best ways to follow Jesus in our own
life as well.
