Unless I
live in a vacuum of small, urban misfortunes that
happen only to me so that the rest of the population may be spared, I can safely assume that most of you will know what it's like to stumble into the
kitchen in the morning only to find out that you're out of coffee.
;) Kind of like what is
happening in my
kitchen right now, trying to nail a recipe for Beer Bread for the net issue of Gluten Free
Living.
It's almost as if when anything of note
happens in my
life, I head to the
kitchen.
For Russians, a lot of «therapy» actually
happens in the
kitchen, where it's customary for relatives and friends to engage
in hours - long talks about «deep» subjects and to talk through minor and major problems, which then seem miraculously solved and
life is all good again.
It sure simplifies
life in the
kitchen when you've got a lot
happening on the stovetop!
And I have had the same thing
happen with toddlers not wanting to let mama and papa cuddle alone — but that's any time — standing
in the
kitchen, the
living room, etc..
I've always wanted to have two trees, one
in the
living room, and one
in our
kitchen / dining area, but it just hasn't
happened yet.
Some of the most important talks I've had with my mother about
life, love, marriage, children — you name it —
happened in the

While I love the look of all neutrals or simple stacks of white dishes like I have

life and real
life is full of patterns, colors and textures.
