If you want to skip the
beach for a day, why not take a walk along Paguera Boulevard, just a few minutes away, where you can get in a little souvenir
shopping or simply sit back and have a coffee at one of the

beach ball toss from the
beach here).
This small
beach town is a favorite among
locals who spend their days surfing, sun bathing around the pier, hanging out in their vintage VW vans, and strolling through the many surf
shops, taco stands and antique malls.
Excursions included surf lessons in Hermosa
Beach, hiking in Montezuma followed by a swim in the cascading waterfalls, an Afro dance class led by a
local Tica dancer and Tico drummer, a cooking class with a
local chef, and a private lunch at a popular restaurant in town, followed by some
shopping.
