Kelly told Guardian Australia that SPC Ardmona, which employs more than 1000
workers and buys fruit from hundreds of
local growers, «does not have a viable future» without the grant, which,
along with money from the Victorian
government and the company, would retool the factory to produce products more suited to a modern market.
