After I built the upper kitchen cabinets I headed to
my local lumber yard to purchase cabinet doors and they didn't have smooth pine plywood.
I talked a little bit more about the wood we used in my episode over at The Design Network, but it was just 1 ″ x6 ″ tongue - and - groove pine planks from
a local lumber yard.
I purchased ours at Home Depot for $ 33 per sheet, and had
a local lumber yard make our doors from my drawing.
Tip: Go to
your local lumber yard to purchase building materials.
Before just grabbing that tree branch from your backyard or a chunk of wood from
the local lumber yard make sure the wood you are offering your rabbit is safe, free of pesticides, untreated, preferably organic, do not include any roots, and are free of paint.
So, for a cost of all of $ 2 I grabbed a 6 foot 1 × 4 at
my local lumber yard after work and completed all of the trim using my air compressor and brad nailer.
Just visit
your local lumber yard ask for «construction grade, untreated wood» and have them cut planks 8» x12» or so (to easily fit on your grill) that are 1/2» -5 / 8» inch thick.
I shop at all three, and a local Ace hardware for specific hardware and
local lumber yards for specialty items.
Check
your local lumber yards, big box stores and even Craigslist for pallets.
