The
local government personnel benefit by extending more control over our lives, enriching the
public treasury with fees, tags and fines, and giving the appearance that
local government is doing something about
animal populations, disease and risks to the
public.
Animal inoculation records maintained by any state or
local public agency may be used only in protecting the
public health and welfare or by any other government agency and are not
public records open to inspection or duplication.
Special programs will be offered to regional
animal welfare staff, volunteers, and foster caregivers, as well as to
local area youth (K through college) and the general

Animal Center pets come from a variety of sources, such as the transfer of
animals from
public shelters to relieve overcrowding, working with
local dog and cat rescues, as well as owner surrender.
While not restricted from accepting
animals from the
public,
local rescue groups like Alachua County Humane Society, Helping Hands Pet Rescue, Puppy Hill Farm
Animal Rescue, Gainesville Pet Rescue, Haile's Angels Pet Rescue, etc. focus their efforts on saving
animals from the county shelter.
During the last week of the year, our adoption center will be closed to the
public so that we can rescue and care for injured, sick, and potentially contagious dogs waiting for rescue at our
local animal control.

local veterinary medical association in the State of Florida with a committee of continuing existence and a non-profit foundation (Miami Veterinary Foundation), the SFVMA maintains a strong commitment to its mission to promote the advancement of veterinary medicine,
animal health,
public health and the human

animals in need know that they can come to CWC for care.
The first step will be a large
public meeting at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library on Monday, October 10th, where representatives from Target Zero will introduce themselves to the
local animal advocacy community and outline a few things they've done in other cities.
Foster parents can also help promote their foster
animal to their family, friends, colleagues and the general
public through a variety of means including flyers, emails and even just by walking your foster
animal in
local neighborhoods with an «Adopt Me» vest.
With proven experience and expertise in delivering effective
public awareness campaigns, and in working in collaboration with
local and central governments to pass and implement laws and regulations to end cruel practices and strengthen
animal protection legal provisions, we are well positioned to tackle Indonesia's cruel and dangerous dog meat trade.
