local letter writer Mitchell Langbert, a Brooklyn College professor and former Republican committee
member who tried starting a Catskills chapter of the
Tea Party last year, has been stirring the pot... by passing on information he's been researching and by fueling his
local blog on a regular basis.
However, only a majority of
Tea Party members (52 %) would support building a nuclear power plant in their own
local area.
Compiling data from
local and national polls, as well as dozens of original interviews with
tea party members and leaders, we find that the
tea party is united on economic issues, but split on the social issues it tends to avoid.
