When I started pushing myself to
write longer short stories and then novellas, the magic happened and now I'm even thinking of a novel one of these days.
Originally, I had some of my short stories (flash fiction and
longer short stories) published in various anthologies in a more traditional way (write - > slush pile - > accept or reject - > contract - > payment - > promotion).
The initial draft of the book was as
a long short story, however knowing that traditional publishers have little appetite for publishing single stories, I decided to take the self - publishing route.
These long short story fictions do that best, for me.
My long short story, «Green Bay Outsiders», is coming along.
In the past,
longer short stories were preferable.
I originally priced
my longer short stories of say 6000 words at $ 3.99 and my novel at 11.99 and my novella at 4.99, but Kindle changed these prices by adding on at least $ 2 to each price tag.

a long short story, as my paternal grandfather once mused.
