governor, had accepted more than $ 300,000 in bribes from the businessmen who needed his help with state business.

governor subsequently said the federal investigation, being conducted by the office of U.S. Attorney for the Southern District Preet Bharara, seems
to be focused on the actions of two of his
longtime associates, lobbyist Todd Howe and former top
aide Joe Percoco.
