HOW does
looking at keywords help me find my market?
I have 3 slides
looking at keywords, which in my experience is half the battle.
A major online dating site recently sifted through more than 500,000 first contact messages
looking at keywords, phrases and how they might have altered reply rates.
It used to be that you could
look at keyword data in Analytics to generate content ideas but since that is now going to be stripped away, it's time to look at other methods for keyword and content research.
Looking at keyword suggestions I see a variety of options — but I want none of them in full — instead — I want to choose only one word and build my keyword phrase from there.
Let's first
look at keyword level tracking.
When you are
looking at the keyword planner from Google you need to understand that low keyword competition does not translate to «easy to rank» organic keywords.
You just had to
look at your keyword data in the Google Analytics» traffic report.
When selecting keywords, it's important to
look at both keyword search volume and competition.
I look at keyword traffic in light of rankings.
Once again we have
looked at keyword reports, however when the keywords are relevant to a specific listing this gives you so much more detail.
Our program
looked at keywords and phrases, how they affected reply rates, and what trends were statistically significant.
So be sure that you're
looking at keyword strings and not singular words.
It's never a bad idea to take a good, long
look at your keywords, metadata, and SEO techniques and ask:
On a more advanced level you'll want to use a tool like SEMRush or Moz Pro to
look at the keyword's difficulty score.
Your potential employer may be using scanning software, such as an applicant tracking system, to filter applications, while the algorithm behind LinkedIn
looks at keyword density to rank your profile in a search.
Look at the keyword and skills Match Report underneath the overall resume match rate.
Look at your keyword / key phrase list from Step 2 and your narrative successes from Step 3.

We look at the keywords employers use in their job postings and job descriptions.
Also have
a look at the keywords mentioned in the job description, then echo these in your cover letter.
I'd recommend job seekers take
a look at keywords in their current and most recent job descriptions, as well as keywords that appear in the types of positions they want to move into.
Look at the keywords and language they use in their profile and see if you can use any of that language in your profile!
Great advice, I was
looking at the keyword alerts yesterday so once I know what I'm looking for I'll be sure to heed that.
Not exact matches
As another analytics tool, Social Clout
looks at where you can make significant improvements in engagement, campaigns and
keywords.
Now let's
look at a trickier example — one where the root
keyword arguably does a good job describing what we are selling.
Look at your Google Analytics Search Overview report to determine which
keywords are driving traffic and from what specific sources.
If you take a
look at your website analytics and the data tells you that you have lots of customers searching for you from a particular city or region, you should include that area by name in your
keywords.
It will also
look at comments directed to the show's Twitter account and crawl the site for
keywords, like «Kevin O'Leary» or the names of the other judges.
For example, if you
look at the image above, you'll see that I get traffic from the
keyword phrase «business quotes.»
I studied the competition,
looking mainly
at backlinks and
keywords and was surprised
at how poorly they were optimized in that respect, one site in particular.
Ardath uses the AdWords
Keyword Planner to
look at long - tail phrases and search volumes.
To show you how you can use it to come up with new
keyword ideas, let's take a
look at the following product page: Rode Smartlav Lavalier Microphone for iPhone and Smartphones on Amazon.com.
If you need more information for a paid search campaign, be sure to also
look at the Display Planner, which will ask you for
keywords your customers are interested in along with your landing page.
Typically used in conjunction with AdWords, this tool gives you a robust
look at the search volume for
keywords at the specific and category - wide level.
Try out some of the
keyword tools like Google's Keyword Planner or look at Google
keyword tools like Google's
Keyword Planner or look at Google

look at Google Trends.
Let's take a better
look at what the actual search volume is for those
keywords.
Right now, go
look at your top 15 converting
keywords, and this next week, bid higher on them.
I typically start all my
keyword research projects by
looking at which
keywords sites in my industry rank for that I do not.
4) Like you mentioned, review regularly, and take a
look at your search query report to add new negative
keywords.
First, just type in your seed
keyword with a single letter of the alphabet and take a
look at the highly relevant Wikipedia suggestions that show up.
At the surface, this high volume / low competition
keyword looks like it would be great for SEO.
You want to
look for the higher volume
keyword terms, ones with
at least 1,000 monthly searches (step 2 goes into this further) and then you can use a tool called Keywordtool.io to find variations of the
keywords you want to target.
I've been using the tool for a while to
look at competitors, however you really opened my eyes to some other fantastic uses that will definitely help in the
keyword planning phase.

keyword discovery.

If you have a search function on your Web site, you may want to
look at what
keywords visitors are using.
Although I've touched a bit on
keyword placement, in this section, we'll
look more
at going after the
keywords that you've researched.
In
Keyword Tool, you could
look at search volume for broad match, phrase match or exact match.
Instead of searching for
keyword ideas & volume across All Locations or only your country,
look at the location breakdown.
First, take a
look at which
keywords are driving conversions.
