Taking place over thirty - one levels, your
character will jack into cyberspace and then pick from three faceless assets with unique skills to square off
against a deluge of cybernetic, robotic, and human foes
looking to impede your climb up the tower.
Make sure to keep your eyes open for the
character models in Pride;
against the stark white backdrop, these guys
look so vividly real in HD you could swear they are about to hop off the screen into your living room.
It
looks great, especially when combined with the retro - futuristic architecture that helps to give each of the three main areas in the game a very distinctive
look, and the occasional playful twist, such as having your
character silhouetted
against the colourful background.
However, we only get a brief
look at the mode, we see two robot like
characters fighting
against each other in what seems to be like a sumo wrestling ring.
Compared to the other
characters, the wizard initially
looked useless in a fight to me, but I soon learnt that conjured objects can be used in various ways
against the enemies, and sweeping them off ledges with, say, dragging a box into them is a guilty pleasure.
I
look forward to playing more and memorising all the move sets for each
character, then perhaps I'll have a fighting chance
against anyone who challenges me.
With 8
characters, a decent selection of modes and features, and a well executed online mode, you're going to find plenty to enjoy here if you're
looking for a good fighter to test out
against your soon to be adversaries.
Characters and enemies are basic, while most
look the same, you are fighting
against hordes of uniformed officers so really other then their faces they should
look somewhat similar.
