There's a
lot of hubbub these days
about the merits of
breast milk versus formula
feeding.
I know there are
lots of great health visitors and they do a very difficult job but have to say mine made me feel absolutely awful
about formula -
feeding even though I continued to express for weeks so my son still had some
breast milk and, however well - intended, stressed one too many times that I could still try to go back to
breast -
feeding alone.
Because there are a
lot of moms out there that wonder or should, they don't even think
about, like can they
breast feed past you know a year.
They have given me
lots of
breast -
feeding advice and answer all my questions
about Promise's development.
My son was super lazy and just
about refused to open his mouth wide, so we did a
lot of «nipple
feeding» rather than «
breast feeding» in the beginning.
As it turns out, there were a
lot of things I didn't know
about breast -
feeding.
There's a
lot about weaning from the
breast, but i never
breast -
fed.
I took a
lot of flak for that and because of the nasty comments I received (including a horrible woman who flat - out told me my baby would probably die of a horrible plague because I was using formula instead of
breast milk and robbing him of antibodies), I am actually very passionate
about letting women know it's okay to choose to formula
feed, that it is nothing to be ashamed of.

We co-sleep and he breastfeeds himself to sleep most nights, some nights he just lets me rock him and he falls asleep without
feeding but he wakes a
lot throughout the night (first at
about an hour from originally falling asleep) and immediately wants to
feed and puts up a giant fight and wakes up fully if I only want to hold him and don't allow him to have my
breast.
The fortunate, actually, was that the Flamingo Hilton - she started Tweeting
about it - and they actually met with her and were really, really nice
about the whole thing and are thinking
about bringing her back to do training for their employees - Ya, they stepped it up, a
lot more than Hollister did -[Laughter] to talk
about the laws and how women are allowed to
breast feed in public.
At a minimum, this kind of information would have made me feel a
lot better
about supplementing with formula during the 10 months I
breast -
fed my sons.

Some of these articles and a
lot of people on this site make me feel horrible
about myself for the fact that my body would not allow me to
breast feed.

Hi Jasmin, I follow many bloggers / websites including this one and a
lot of the other moms have similar problems and they all talk
about removing dairy from their diet when they're
breast feeding.
