I didn't know a whole
lot about Candida until I read Ricki Heller's
book «Living Candida -
Free» but what little I did know, I think I learned from Ricki's blog or recipes.
You can find a
lot of information
about every

I've found some gems in the
free stacks... a
lot of times I'll see a
book offered for
free because the author's like... 10th
book is
about to release, so they'll put their first release on sale to draw new readers in... I'm a total sucker then, because then I'll buy that author's entire back log.
A
lot of people will happily take that
free book, but only
about 20 - 30 % of them will actually write the review.
There is a
lot of debate
about whether authors should give away
books for
free.
Guerilla Marketing Weapons, in particular, will be a hugely valuable read for authors out there who have clued into the fact that endlessly tweeting
about your latest Kindle
Free day may not be the surest path to selling
lots of
books.
My advice to people who struggle with marketing is to just research how to do it (I'm doing that myself too); there are a
lot of cheap, and even
free books on Amazon

about lots of
free books?
Not one to sit idle, I've done a
lot of things with my «
free» time, including write 2
books (Sam Kane
Book 2 & the Epic Fantasy that is this close (holds finger and thumb a hairs breadth apart) to being done), did some guest speaking gigs on marketing, podcasting and social media — and I'm
about to do another one all
about Scrivener for a couple of writer's groups / conferences.
You must remember I've just published my 6th
book and it takes time, as I said — also, when I did really well with my first two there were a hell of a
lot less
books on Amazon UK, only
about 1,200,000 I think,, and it was fairly easy to get to number one in the
free downloads, which automatically led to a place in the paid Top 100.
So, I did, and if you are an independent author or publisher and have a
free Kindle
book promotion coming up, you can tell me
about it if you give me a
lot of lead time and fill out the short form at the «For Authors» section of the blog's website.

I really do believe that the tools for promotion that KDP Select gave us — and that I used enthusiastically — had a
lot to do with my past success — particularly as an author who writes slowly (
books come out
about every 2 years) and didn't have enough
books in my series to go the perma
free route).
I have seen a
lot of complaints that this
book is just a big advertizement for Smashwords, but I enjoyed learning more
about what they do — and it is a
free book put out by Smashwords.

In my experience, it has been a gift to discover a
lot of lesser known authors by grabbing a
free offering, and if I enjoy the
book I am not shy
about paying for future
books.
I've been posting a
lot about freebies lately, and several non-KDP Select authors have left comments on various posts wondering how to get
books to go
free on Amazon, so I thought I'd share the no - fuss, no - muss method.

books (specifically my Emperor's Edge
books, which are part of a series I completed over a year ago), most likely because the permafree
Book 1 is being downloaded a
lot less now — there are more
free titles available at Amazon and elsewhere, and also I believe KU has siphoned off some of the deal seekers who used to peruse the
free lists.

I write
books about self - publishing or
book marketing because they introduce people to my services and businesses, but they don't make a
lot of money — it would usually be better to give the
book away for
free and reach more people than try to sell 5 or 10 a day.
I've given a
lot of
free advice
about how to market
books, but here are some more pearls of wisdom:
And people give them away for nothing, and then people fill their ebooks, going, «Ooh, all these
free books,» and actually a
lot of the time they buy them because they've got a nice cover, and what it tells you is that that person's better at doing covers than they are

Well, I have a bad habit of grabbing a

free books — upon further reflection, there were
about a dozen I realized either (a) the content really wasn't that appealing after all, or (b) I don't have enough time to read a million or so
books and never would get around to reading them.
But now a
lot of people (including me) have 200 +
books on our Kindles, so we think twice
about downloading new
books, even if they're
free.

books and novels, not only
about investing but
about society, freedom, real life stories etc...
