of raw milk that was souring anyway and let it set out on the counter for 24 hours in an airtight container.

I've been using

lot of desserts lately, and now that I've seen this, I think I need to branch out.
There was a
lot of crumb mixture left at the end, so I re-dipped the drummies in the
buttermilk brine and re-coated with the crumbs.
I've done that
lots of times and the «homemade»
buttermilk blends perfectly with the other ingredients.
I would only make it again if I ended up with the strange combo
of lots of lemons and leftover
buttermilk and apricot preserves.
I made some changes due to suggestions below, & also due to not having red wine or berries: - doubled the recipe (but changed milk:
buttermilk ratio to 1:3 since I had extra
buttermilk, and I dislike a
lot of sweetness)- used almond milk since that's what I had - and since I used extra
buttermilk, the richness wasn't compromised - vanilla extract instead
of bean (just didn't have a bean).
My new favorite dressing is this homemade
buttermilk ranch, with
lots of fresh lemon zest.

of half & half or cream - chopped apples sauteed in a bit
of butter and cinnamon - in summer, brown sugar - mashed berries

lots of fresh cilantro, and a handful
of cooked posole.
I found the recepie to be VERY wet so I doubled the flour, which was too dry so added another 250 ml
buttermilk, which was perfect but made a
LOT of bread.
Also, include
lot of healthy snacks like fruits,
buttermilk, salads, etc..
I usually avoid very hot and spicy food and take in a
lot of boiled veggies, fruits, drink a
lot of water and also drink a
lot of milk (boiled), yoghurt and
buttermilk.
