I'm not sure what all the weekend will entail but I do plan to spend a
lot of time
on my favorite
kindle reading some books (just finished this book 2 nights ago and I highly recommend it) and maybe even getting up a Christmas tree.
Amazon has been doing a
lot of sales
on their tablets lately; it's good to see they are finally including their E Ink
Kindles this time around.
I saw a
lot of people, a
lot, using their
Kindles while commuting
on to New York City for a 1 - week class I was taking.
I am going to miss having it as a tool for authors, and I spent a
lot of time and energy working
on my
kindle scout guide and blog posts.
Also a
lot of things
on the software side are going to be released for the original
kindle paper white.
They added in protections because in the first year of
kindle scout people could just remove and reapply their own nomination over and over again to get
on and stay
on hot and trending (which is why there was a flurry of «ZOMG MY BOOK WAS HOT AND TRENDING THE ENTIRE TIME AND DID N'T GET PICKED» blog and forum posts from people complaining (hence why a
lot of blog posts are utterly useless about the early days of
kindle scout).
It has a
lot of insight
on the marketing behind the
kindle books.

Also, while you're right to think that some of those free books are languishing
on Kindles unread, some of them forever, that you received 77 new reviews from the promotion (plus 10 since you wrote this post) that means a
lot of people did read it.
The unexplained
kindle delays, lack of word
on Kindle 2.0 release date, and complete lack of
Kindle Sales figures all add up to
lots of news articles, blog posts and other free press for Amazon.
They have 3 e-ink models with variations and they sell a few but the Fire tablets sell better and the point of the
Kindles is to sell books and it seems a
lot of people are reading
on the Fires and
on their phones and tablets.
Two things come to mind: one, I read a
lot of customer comments
on the Amazon site that are complaints about quality control in the
Kindles resulting in different light output from individual LEDs.
but giving books away free has done two things for me: increased my monthly income by an awful
lot, and increased the number of people with my books
on their
kindle.
Amazon can undercut its competitors
on price because it can factor in earnings from future ebook sales, it can sell a
lot of
Kindles from Amazon.com and not have to share a cut with retailers, and it doesn't have to spend as much
on marketing and promotions.
Black Friday was the best ever for the Kindle family — customers purchased 4X as many Kindle devices as they did last Black Friday — and last year was a great year... we're seeing a
lot of customers buying multiple
Kindles — one for themselves and others as gifts — we expect this trend to continue
on... through the holiday shopping season.
It seems that people in the US buy a heck of a
lot more
Kindles and they would rather save $ 25 and put up with ads and coupon deals at the bottom of the homescreen and
on the screensavers than spend extra for the Kindle WiFi or 3G model.
Perhaps not terribly surprising considering it is the least expensive version, but it does seem to show that a
lot of people don't mind ads
on their
Kindles and will accept them in exchange for a lower price ($ 25 off in this case).
When used ineffectively, the worst they will do is collect electronic dust
on lots of
kindles.

After all with smartphones, iPads etc. you don't need a

kindle gets locked down then we'll all go an download some other ebook reading app for our non-kidle hardware devices and let the
kindles whither
on the vine.

lot of people who look at my
kindle and say «if only it had a backlit display», so I expect that someone will come up with a book reader based
on the Qi display.
Can some one please tell me step by step
on how to jailbreak or hack my
kindle fire so I can do a
lot more with it.
You might say its because people already have a
lot of
Kindle ebooks and switching is hard, but in a world where most people have tablets its not hard to keep your
kindle books there in case you want to go back to them and buy your new books
on some device tied into a cheaper ebook store.
Lots of people have been calling for bolder fonts
on Kindles for years so it was nice (and surprising) to see Amazon finally add the option.
I like a
lot of people
on the Net nice concept and not bad price but I have zero intrest due to the price or selection of books, it just as easy for me to buy
on my
kindle or get a google book and convert it in mobi format,
I also agree with this, in amazon
kindle store people may miss out
on a
lot of independent authors out there who write some really nice stories!
But now a
lot of people (including me) have 200 + books
on our
Kindles, so we think twice about downloading new books, even if they're free.
I understand the need to compete with the
kindle and i like the update apps that feature a
lot of new things but 1st no talking of 4.0 for the iphone, no talks of updates to AT&T service to control how much space customers take up
on the 3g network.
As an author, I READ a
lot, and I buy most of my books
on Amazon and read them
on my
kindle.
But a
lot more people should have $ 79
Kindles to read them
on by the time they actually are available.
The Amazon Kindle Voyage falls in the premium category and is a
lot different from the other
Kindles available
on Amazon.
