As much as I
love dressing up for Winter, I'm seriously longing for the first rays of Spring sun to glare through my
windows and for me to start
baring the ankles and shoulders again.
Forgetting to set your alarm and waking up to sunlight streaming in through your bedroom
window, the feeling of soft green grass on the soles of my
bare feet, crisp cool morning air before a hot summer day, steel cut oats with sweet granules of melted brown sugar, the glittery reflection of sunbeams as they softly touch the water, the smell of the forest after it has rained, mornings spent curled up in a hammock loosing yourself in a book, walking everywhere because it's sunny and you can, teaching a first grader how to do a cartwheel, watching the sunrise with someone you
love, skinny dipping in the ocean, braiding daisy chains into your hair prior to discovering a spider!
So, when Melissa asked me about a nice summer guest post at The Inspired Room it got me to thinking about summer here at my cottage... it made me think of wide open doors, a lovely breeze coming in through the
windows,
bare feet and sunhats lying around... and I
love that casual laid - back vibe and it's exactly the beach house ambiance I try and capture in my old cottage.
I live on a quiet street and have sheers on both my side
windows, the middle
window is
bare:)
