So much hate in these posts... I just got ta say I trust Bird and have
loved all of his movies so far, and this trailer doesn't give me any reason to believe it will be a let down.

of creating computers with «universal intelligence,» as he put it, which involves artificial intelligence like in the
movie Her that is
so lifelike that you could fall in
love with it.
Rogers knows that better than anyone,
so, despite the Oscar snub, he's taking in the fun
of being on a
movie with awards
love.
Not pure pornographic sex, but the use
of sexually attractive models for ads, men and women wearing provocative clothing who sing (or who can't sing, but no one cares), Songs and
movies that portray sexual issues without the
love that should be the focus, and
so on.
I had
so many evangelical friends who raved and
loved the
movie «The Book
of Eli», all the way up to the end.
Mr. Rich was gratified, indeed exultant, over the box office success
of The Birdcage, noting that the same weekend it opened a Robert Redford
movie about a heterosexual
love affair did not do nearly
so well.
So let's say this
movie is about a woman whose life was shaped by
love of her father; the making
of the film Mary Poppins (as well as the writing
of the book) is about her coming to terms with the truth about personal
love and death and all that.
As far as examples
of strong women in media, I can only cite the ones that I've appreciated — Buffy and Willow from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Zoe, Inara, and Kaylee from Firefly, and Joan and Peggy from Mad Men (I
love Peggy
so much), Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games (the books, as I haven't seen the
movie).
Evie won't ever know my Granny but we tell her stories like we tell stories
of my father's parents and we spin the yarn
of their family stories
so that they feel like they belong, like they know their place in the story,
so they know it didn't start with them, it won't end with them, and there is a kind
of love that doesn't show up in the
movies.
I know these days can be hard for
so many
of us — you may be tired, heartbroken, estranged from
loved ones, yearning for more, settling for less, broke, afraid, betrayed, rejected, struggling, addicted, disillusioned, lonely, isolated, thwarted, doubting, numb, any or all sorts
of things that aren't showing up on the easily resolved Hallmark Christmas
movies or the shiny - happy - Jesus - people.
So it's fascinating to see a Pixar
movie reject this typical theme in favor
of a deeper message: that what we
love to do, when solely in the service
of our own desires, can lead to regret and perhaps evil, if we're not careful.
Different genres
of movies portray information differently, and
so just as you would not expect accurate history and science to come from a
love story, even documentaries, which often do portray accurate history and science, reveal history and science from a particular perspective, carefully selecting material to make a certain point, or tell a certain story.
I don't like Halloween mainly because I am not a fan
of scary things (horror
movies, zombies, vampires, haunted hay rides etc) but I do
LOVE the candy that goes with Halloween celebrations
so I am in full support
of this holiday.

The process was fun because
of the snow and the Christmas

movie, because Vincent Minelli was in
love with her; and each shot
of her was absolutely lovely.
The
movie is set in New York, but the hotel they used is the Millennium Biltmore in L.A. I
LOVE that
movie so of course it was fun to see, but also it's a very historic and beautiful hotel and you can see photos
of classic actors and actresses at parties at the Biltmore in the 50's.
My favorite category
of the night was
movies and songs that share the same name (i.e. Proud Mary, Can't Buy Me
Love, etc.) Last night, Bob and I ordered in from our favorite Costa Rican restaurant, and tonight, I'm getting together for a long overdue dinner with Emily —
