because low density foods have little calories for greater volume (lots) of food.
Vegetables are
low density foods, so while you should still eat vegetables for health, you need to eat high density foods for gaining muscle mass.
A medium energy density food is like a bagel, and
low density foods are typified by fruits and vegetables.
When you are presenting
the low density food in this video, I must mention «the French paradox».
Complex carbs, such as whole grains and vegetables, are
low density foods.
But by getting rid of the obvious «Super Junk» foods and adding in more veggies (
low density foods) you can eat more food, a greater volume of food.
