Just like the majority right now is going on large
sales and bundling to their heart's content, if a majority did business like this the initial revenue would probably stagnate and be much
lower than expected, but after the consumers got into their heads that the
games they wanted would NOT follow the expected process, revenue would increase and maybe allow for less waste
of resources on support (as you say) or channel them to good marketing campaigns that don't hurt either the consumers or the developers.
Activision, I'm telling you right now; not properly supporting versions
of your
games is the QUICKEST way to ensure that
sales of those versions stay
low for the entirety
of their time on the market.
Also running at the same time is a
sale on
games by developer Arc System Works, which runs through the end
of the year, that sees such titles as BlazBlue Chronophantasma Extend at the
lowest prices I've ever seen them.
It was more
of a cult classic than a flop and could have been as big as the other action - platformer
games that made there mark on the ps2 (ratchet & clank, Jack & Daxter, ect) if it weren't for whatever it was that caused such
low initial
sales.
As for the
game, I've looked gameplays
of this, and I'm not really sure if I would like this, as the physics semmed floaty from what I watched, I'll be picking it on a
sale for sure (even if the
game's base price is, surprisingly,
low)

of course I've bought far too many indie
games because they were in some steam
sale and seemed mildly interesting for a

low price.
I thought at first maybe the price was too high, most indie
games i buy are below 5 dollars now - a-days (though i get most through humble bundles), but on a whim I checked the popular piratebay torrent site and they only have 85 seeds
of your
game so im guessing price wasnt a factor in the
low sales.
