I like that the door grabs the
color from the
lower cabinets and brings it up, without it the top half of the kitchen would be pretty bland.

Note - I altered the
color of the
lower cabinets in the photo above using Photoshop, just to see what they would look like!
It's amazing on kitchen
cabinet uppers with a dark
color on the
lowers.
I would have left that
color on the
lower level
cabinets and had new
cabinets with a light grey
color installed for the top layer.
L ~ We used a similar
color on our
lower cabinets and Cottage White (I think) on the upper
cabinets.
Would a
color expert or a decorator please help us out by taking their best guess as to what they think is the
color of the
lower cabinet.
The upper
cabinets (which are above my baking counter and refrigerator, you can see it in the photo above) will be white and the
lower will be the brownish grayish
color still to be determined.

lowers being painted a contrasting

The part I can't decide on is the

I would leave the bottom
cabinets the
color they are, you are right, the
lower ones takes a lot of wear and tear... Great work

In our case it kindof disappears if we had painted it the same
color as the darker
lower cabinets it would stand out more, which we didn't want.
The bright
colors of the dishes blend with the warm tones of the stain on the kitchen's
lower cabinets.
We sanded and painted them the
color of the
lower cabinets so that they would match.
I would love to paint them... I've thought of doing all the
lower cabinets a darker
color and the top
cabinets a brighter
color.

cabinet color looks exactly like my
lower kitchen cupboards, which are Farrow and Ball DownPipe.
If the thought of going for a
color in the kitchen makes you nervous, paint only the
