Hi Jeff, do not get discouraged by

Hi George, do not get discouraged by
lower ketone readings.
The level of ketones in your body doesn't always need to be high - people lose weight even with no or very
low ketone readings.

Yes, as your body gets keto - adapted, it uses
ketones more effectively and you'll see
lower readings even on the blood
ketone meter.
Don't focus on numbers and don't get discouraged when you see
low ketosis
readings - there are several factors that affect
ketone levels.
If I have super high
ketone readings and
low glucose levels.
It may just be that your body is using
ketones effectively and you will naturally see
lower readings.
Your body will also achieve a
ketone blood
reading of at least 0.5 mmol / L, something you can't achieve on a
low - carb diet alone.
It makes a differene also I notice that when I wake up with

Also, to mention the Atkins diet, in the book I
read, the diet begins with a two week very
low carb diet [20 grams of carbo perday] in order to transition the body into a state of nutritional ketosis, using
ketones not glucose / insulin for energy generation; however, it is not intended to be a permanent such state but rather for the dieter to gradually add in carbs; however, is one added in only up to the limit, which varies from person to person, of carbs to just below the lvel that would transition out of ketosis, then Atkins would work with that in mind and requiring monitoring for blood or urine
ketone levels and must needs be high fat,, moderate protein, and
low carbs
Can being dehydrated and / or
low blood volume skew one's
ketone and / or blood glucose
readings on the high side?
