In a few more years I'm hoping I can get them to start helping to make their own lunches, and when that time comes I'm thinking I'll reprint all
the lunch choices in a bigger font and tell the kids they can pick whatever they want as long as they get one item from each group.

The sad truth is that if I don't stop for a few minutes and make myself a good

I'm so used to eating
lunch alone (at work, though, not at home), and I love not only getting to make the

I've gotten into the habit of keeping some sort of non-lettuce based salad
in the fridge, so I have the option to make a smarter
lunch or snack
choices.
Then during
lunch time they would be
in the cafeteria encouraging younger children to make healthier
choices and praising them for doing so.
Packing a yummy
lunch fast makes me as happy as can be because it helps me and my family make healthier
choices for our
lunch and provides a bright spot of freshness and excitement
in the middle of our day.
We would never, for example, forbid parents from sending
