This is a great soup to
make on a weeknight when you want something homemade, but don't want to spend a ton of time
in the
kitchen.
I was feeling a little lazy when
making this and
not really
in the mood for
making pastry, so I ended up with an alternative easy quinoa crust (adapted from a recipe by Julie Morris's Superfood
Kitchen).
I've faithfully
made jars of preserved lemons, year after year, and it wasn't until I started experimenting with salad dressings and sauces that they gained a happy place
in my
kitchen.
This recipe has been one of my favorite ways to
make something healthy when I do
not feel like spending an hour
in the
kitchen to
make something both healthy and delicious.
Though I am
not making all of my recipes up from scratch, I don't just let the ideas or recipes dictate exactly what I do — I still experiment
in the
kitchen and
make the recipes my own.
So sad that I couldn't participate
in the last ReDux of the year (the lack of the
kitchen + all my cookbooks conveniently situated across the country
made it hard), but oh well, I'll probably
make up for it at a future Foodie Friday!
I
made these for party while
in New Mexico and had fun doing them, despite
not cooking and baking
in my own
kitchen.
LOL It's probably a good thing that I don't have the ingredients
in the house or I might be
making these instead of washing the
kitchen floor.
What's great about them is that they don't
make a huge mess
in your
kitchen, which is great if many of you are cooking at the same time to put together a brunch.
This enchilada skillet is so good, and no one will guess that you didn't slave away
in the
kitchen to
make it.
It's a good way to keep baking powder fresh, however I think it's because a lot of people don't bake at home —
in France, bags of sugar and flour are much smaller than they are
in the states (
in the US, there are huge bags of nuts, flours, sugars, and other baking ingredients
in supermarkets)- which I think is because there are so many bakeries (and
in cities like Paris,
kitchens are tiny) and lots of people buy their baked goods rather than
make them.
After spending long hours
in the
kitchen of Xiao Bao Biscuit, the downtown «Asian soul food» eatery he opened with wife Duolan Li
in 2012, Joshua Walker isn't too keen on
making a complex meal at home.
This recipe works well divided into 9 muffins, which I like, so that I can bake it
in my microwave sized countertop oven (I overlap a pair of 2 × 3 muffin pans to
make a 3 × 3) and
not heat up the
kitchen as much as the regular, big, under - the - stove one would.
I've got some ripe bananas

kitchen right now — can't wait to
make those foster bars!
I have already
made four of the recipes
in this book and they were all very easy to
make (Amanda's directions are some of the best out there), didn't require lots of fancy
kitchen gadgets, and took no time at all!
It is hot here
in Los Angeles today, and I don't want to heat up the
kitchen, another good reason to
make polenta with greens and fried eggs.
Although she doesn't
make her way around the
kitchen the way she used to nanny still has the energy to help out by rolling all the cookies
in powered sugar for us.

I started
making quiches years ago when I needed to figure out a good brunch dish to
make that was delicious but could also be prepared the night before and
not having to stand
in front of the
kitchen while the guests are arriving.
In case that doesn't have a heart mold to the hand, can
make a square tart piece and then to cut with a knife to the form on a

I don't ever know what the heck I'm doing

As much as I love food and treats
made at home, I'm also a realist and I know that sometimes I'm
not By Golly Miss Molly whose been baking away

It is a big success
in my household.We alwasy eat it while standing by the
kitchen counter... it just does
not make it to the table.
My vanilla cupcake recipe is easy to
make as it doesn't require any out of the ordinary ingredients such as buttermilk or yoghurt, which are ingredients you might
not happen to have
in your
kitchen.
Vegetable oils are
not any better (try
making that
in your
kitchen).
I actually
made these for Canadian Thanksgiving back
in October (along with this pumpkin roulade) because I wanted something like pie but I couldn't manage rolling out a pie crust with my busted elbows (which have both now healed and I'm back to full force
in the
kitchen — now there's something to be thankful for!).
