When wallpapering around electrical sockets, plugs or switches, make sure that you isolate the electrical power at
the main fuse box.
If appliances are wet or appear to be damaged, turn off the electricity running to them at
the main fuse box and then unplug them.

IF water got into the vehicle, your
main concern is checking the
fuse box for water and drying the area so it doesn't corrode and lead to electrical issues.
If it's not the relay causing the problem, carefully inspect the cables going from the switch, relay /
fuse box,
main harness, and to the headlight assembly.
Even if the power to your home isn't working, turn off the
main breaker in your
fuse box and all the individual
fuse connections.
I would definitely look for some of the
main issues that are found in old homes such as foundation issues, old plumbing (rusted or deteriorated), electrical (I believe that age will have
fuses instead of breaker
box (not an expert in this arena), and other deferred maintenance.
