When Metroid of all things get a new, original game for its anniversary (It may not be
a main series metroid and instead a game in the mediocre prime series, but it's not a port or remake either) and zelda only gets ports and merchandise, something isn't right.
But
main series Metroid games need to be successful first.

Series but have never played a
Metroid game.
In this way,
Metroid Prime Pinball manages to remain faithful to the
main series while providing an entirely new twist on the pinball genre that fans won't want to miss.
Even the most optimistic observer knew that the good will of
Metroid fans has been stretched to a near breaking point and producing a spin - off before a
main series game was a bad call.

Metroid franchise hasn't delivered a quality
main series entry in so long that there is an entire generation of gamers that believe Samus is just a Smash Bros. character.

main being that the missle / rocket launcher is the only weapon that you need to collect ammunition for and another being that to upgrade your health you have to seek out small heart tubes.
That said, I think a proper entry in the
main series — perhaps in the style of the stellar Another
Metroid 2 Remake — would be a welcome addition to the Switch's lineup.

First and foremost, it would allow the company to both reintroduce the
main game
series to fans who have felt its absence, and it would also allow a whole new generation of gamers to be introduced to the
Metroid series.

Metroid as one of Nintendo's flagship franchises.
