whilst also improving metabolic rate further and helping to decrease fat stores and
maintain leanness.
While I was able to get lean and
maintain leanness by reverse dieting, not lowering carbs too low and minimal to no cardio for my fitness competitions, most of those other amazing, toned bodies, which I had seen only a few short weeks earlier, were soft.

When they achieve the desired muscle size and
leanness, all they need is balanced diet and some cardiovascular exercise few times a week in order to
maintain their line.
That's not to say that you can't ever be really lean, but you will have to
maintain a certain level of
leanness for quite a while before your empty fat cells die, and before your body considers your new, leaner body to be homeostasis.
To help offset this decrease, keep exercising consistently after you've lost weight or if you're trying to
maintain a certain level of
leanness.
If you want to lose weight and
maintain a respectable level of
leanness, then calories / portion sizes will be something you think about.
So, then, is it actually possible to effectively lose weight, achieve
leanness, and
maintain it... without counting calories?
