Considering the
impact of greenhouse gases
on the
warming of the planet - which has been forecasted to detrimentally affect
global environments and make the Earth less inhabitable — the U.S. and China have come together to address and mitigate their emissions as the
major contributors.
The present steady rise in tropical temperatures due to
global warming will have a
major impact on global climate and could intensify destructive hurricanes like Katrina and Rita.
Political and economic forces affecting energy use and fuel choice make it unlikely that the CO2 issue will have a
major impact on energy policies until convincing observations of the
global warming are in hand.
... A
major report
on the
impact of
global warming released by the UN's Intergovernmental Panel
on Climate Change (IPCC) at the Brussels meeting avoided the term «refugee» entirely, referring instead to «environmental migrants.»

major scientific conference «Our Common Future under Climate Change» opened
on 7 July in Paris at the height of an intense, extensive and long - lasting European heatwave, which is consistent with the expected
impacts of
global warming.
The alleged rationales for anti-coal and gas policies — to reduce
global warming or protect local environments — are furphies: whether or not further
warming will occur and be dangerous — and both propositions are questionable and are being ignored by
major emissions producers China and India, and soon the USA — Australia's emissions reductions will have no measurable
impact on world climate.
Margaret Beckett (Again, from Mindfully.org), the Environment Secretary, who opened the conference, added another ominous prediction when she said that
major global warming impacts on the world in the next 20 to 30 years could not be avoided.
The latest study from the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel
on Climate Change (IPCC) put the inevitability of drastic
global warming in the starkest terms yet, stating that
major impacts on parts of the world — in particular Africa, Asian river deltas, low - lying islands and the Arctic — are unavoidable and the focus must be
on adapting life to survive the most devastating changes.
E.g., research assumes greenhouse gas emissions cause
warming without explicitly stating humans are the cause»... carbon sequestration in soil is important for mitigating
global climate change» (4a) No position Does not address or mention the cause of
global warming (4b) Uncertain Expresses position that human's role
on recent
global warming is uncertain / undefined «While the extent of human - induced
global warming is inconclusive...» (5) Implicit rejection Implies humans have had a minimal
impact on global warming without saying so explicitly E.g., proposing a natural mechanism is the main cause of
global warming»... anywhere from a
major portion to all of the
warming of the 20th century could plausibly result from natural causes according to these results» (6) Explicit rejection without quantification Explicitly minimizes or rejects that humans are causing
global warming»... the
global temperature record provides little support for the catastrophic view of the greenhouse effect» (7) Explicit rejection with quantification Explicitly states that humans are causing less than half of
global warming «The human contribution to the CO2 content in the atmosphere and the increase in temperature is negligible in comparison with other sources of carbon dioxide emission»»
This is bound to ruffle a few feathers, so here are Professor Jacobson's comments

Hurricane Katrina and other
major tropical storms spur debate over
impact of
global warming on storm intensity.
