This puts the onus on them to figure out what to do with it, and while it may
end up in the
trash for now, imagine the effect if the
majority of customers did this.
While some of the spoilage occurs
in the field and during processing and transportation to supermarkets, the vast
majority happens
in refrigerators, where too many items
end up languishing till they rot, at which point they get tossed
in the
trash.
