Humpday Confessions
Featuring Aubrey Plaza (Funny People), Mark Duplass (
Humpday), and «New Girl» star Jake M. Johnson, this has all the
makings of a quirky comedy, even if there ends up not actually being any time traveling in the film.
While it possesses all the hallmarks that
made Shelton's debut film,
Humpday, so entertaining (an interesting, imaginative plot, a stellar cast, hints of poignant drama), Touchy Feely never quite
makes the plight of its characters truly engaging.
We became aware of her when she
made the excellent
Humpday, and followed that up with the brilliant Your Sister's Sister.
Shelton got her start
making intelligent, funny comedies without the safety net of a screenplay; films like
Humpday and Your Sister's Sister proved that «entirely improvised» didn't have to be a red flag.
Officially, «
Humpday,» which
makes its premiere Friday, was
made for «under $ 1 million.»
