So, what
makes sheetrock so special?

I started taking photos of mangled metal and shattered
sheetrock, all covered with a thick dusting of insulation that
made you itch just by looking at it.

Sheetrock has a relatively small energy footprint — it is just gypsum pressed between sheets of paper — really just ready
made plaster.
This is how I do it in NJ, I've been working with my electrician for a couple of jobs now, so he doesn't even ask me for money because he knows that I will pay him, but putting in wiring after
sheetrocks makes no sense when the walls are up already..
I recently had ceiling fans installed in my bedrooms and I couldn't believe the
sheetrock dust those teeny tiny ceiling holes
made.
If you don't have wood underneath your
sheetrock, you'll definitely need to drive your nails into the ceiling joists to
make sure the planks stay up!
It would definitely work over a popcorn ceiling, but I would find the joists above the
sheetrock and nail the planks to furring strips to
make sure the planks stay up!
The goal is to
make this all look like true board and batten not
sheetrock wall.
