Turns out, the magic in this
chili had nothing to do with my knowing HOW she
made it... it has everything to do with the love, patience, and intention that goes into the
dish.
I love serving
chili dishes when everyone has different schedules, but each of us can still have a homemade meal when a pot of
chili is
made.
I only used one teaspoon of the
chili garlic sauce to
make the
dish a little milder but served it on the side for my heat loving husband.
This was the first
dish I ever
made in a slow cooker and, although I agree with other reviewers that it is more a soup than a
chili, it's delicious soup and we ate it happily all week.
We eat it anytime of year, but I think it
makes a gorgeous autumn
dish with all its rich colours and flavours: the warm comfort of the Veggie
Chili, combined with fresh salad and zesty guacamole.
Not only does it
make delicious Red Chicken Enchiladas, but it's a perfect base for
chili, and it adds a delightful piquancy to most Mexican or southwestern
